Professional activity

After studying at ETH Zurich, where he graduated as Dipl. El.-Ing. ETH, Peter D. Rigling spent two years in the USA, where he worked as a technical assistant at the medical faculty of the University of Miami and simultaneously completed a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering. With his Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering, he joined the development department of a Swiss company as a project and group leader working in the field of "medical imaging" based on nuclear magnetic resonance. His interest in industrial property rights led him to join the patent and legal department of a large telecoms company in 1990 to train as a patent attorney. In 1995, he joined a medium-sized patent law firm in the Zurich area as a professional representative before the European Patent Office, where I was a partner and co-owner from 1999 to 2020. In 2013, he was elected as a part-time judge at the Federal Patent Court by the Federal Assembly. In 2021, he founded RIGLING IP AG.
