Stephan Kessler

Professional activity

Shortly after completing his master’s degree in biochemistry, Stephan Kessler discovered his interest in intellectual property law, whereupon he successfully completed his postgraduate studies in intellectual property at ETH Zurich. Following a short internship, he took up his first position as a “patent liaison” in an internationally active medical technology company. In order to obtain the necessary practice for admission as a European Patent Attorney, he joined a law firm in Eastern Switzerland as a patent engineer, where he was able to gain experience in patent law in a variety of technical fields. Since 2009 he has been bringing this experience to Keller & Partner Patentanwälte AG.

As part of a graduate biochemist, Stephan Kessler’s DNA contains the ability to think his way into tiny, abstract structures not visible to the naked eye. Outside of office hours he likes to get more concrete and hands-on, be it by building small pieces of furniture, tending to the garden or trying out new recipes in the kitchen. A naturally curious person, Stephan enjoys diving into new technical areas and acquiring fundamental understanding in a variety of disciplines.
