Dr. Claus Dendorfer

Professional Activities

Dr. Claus Dendorfer studied law and computer science in Munich and Oxford. He holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Oxford and a doctorate in computer science from the Technische Universität in Munich. He is one of relatively few patent attorneys in Germany holding university degrees in computer science.
Dr. Dendorfer has been working in the field of intellectual property since 1993. After training at a Munich patent law firm, the FernUniversität Hagen, the German Patent and Trademark Office, and the European Patent Office, he was admitted as a patent attorney, European Patent Attorney, and European Trademark Attorney in 1997. In 2007, he was a founding partner of Dendorfer & Herrmann Patentanwälte Partnerschaft mbB. He joined Keller Schneider in October 2024.

Dr. Claus Dendorfer has decades of experience in the field of software patents. He recognized the potential of patent protection for software at an early stage and was one of the first computer scientists in Germany to become a patent attorney. Since then, he has handled a large number of cases and knows the law and practice of software patents in detail.
